Originally titled The Great Dominions, the album was rushed out to follow the success of Kilimanjaro. There are several contradictions on the inner sleeve to what is actually on the record, like a credit for a cover of The Butcher's tale, a Zombies song that was originally going to appear on the album and was held back.

The US release, like Kilimanjaro contained a few differences. The cover artwork was changed (above right) and although all the tracks are the same, they are in a different running order.
